Triton College has an open door admission policy for high school graduates and others qualified to enter its programs. After admission, the college provides guidance to help each student determine an appropriate field of study according to individual abilities and interests.

Welcome Center
Triton College’s Welcome Center is located in the Student Center (B Building).
The Welcome Center assists students in-person or by email with the following services:
- Current student registration for students not requiring Academic Advising
- Update student address and verify in-district residency status
- Issue student Triton photo IDs
- Campus maps and directions to various departments and student services
- Assistance in using Triton's website
- Pickup of transcripts if ordered from Parchment in advance
- Check-in for Academic Advising for appointments or when walk-in advising is available

Residence Policy
The tuition rate is determined by the student's residence. Residence policy does not apply to international students on a visa. The student must meet the following criteria to be considered a resident of the district:
- Must have occupied a dwelling in the district for 30 days prior to the start of classes
- Must provide a photo ID
- Must demonstrate district residency by providing at least two of the following documents:
- Illinois driver's license
- Automobile registration
- Property tax statement
- Lease or purchase agreement
- Utility or telephone bill
- Library card
- Other appropriate dated documentation
- Triton College mail is excluded
Residency documentation should be submitted to the B-Building Welcome Center or registration@cdnihan.com for address changes or address verifications.
Please contact registration@cdnihan.com or in-person at the B-Building Welcome Center if you have any questions. Residency holds may only be resolved in-person or by email, and will not be resolved over the phone.

Out-of-District Resident Employed In-District
A student who resides outside of the Triton College district, but is employed by a company or organization within the district, will be entitled to in-district tuition rates if the following conditions are met:
- The student and an authorized agent of the company must complete the In-District Worker Form, verifying that the student is employed at least 35 hours per week. This form can be found in the Records Office, located in B-220, and must be submitted prior to the start of the semester.
- The student must submit a recent pay stub indicating that he/she is employed at least 35 hours per week by a company or organization within the district or provide other means of employment verification.
- The student must be employed at least 35 hours per week.
- A new In-District Worker Form must be submitted each semester, prior to the start of classes, to confirm eligibility.
